EVENT DATE: Nov 29, 2016
We are forever grateful to The Butterfly Children’s Hospices as they provided loving care to both Michael and Robert, and they do the same for countless children with life-threatening illnesses. The Butterfly Children’s Hospices believes every child has the right to be known, to be cared for, and to be loved.
We were fortunate to be able to visit The Butterfly Children’s Hospices during our first trip to China to adopt our son, Michael. It is a bright, happy, and loving home to children needing hospice care. We remember seeing children with terminal illnesses and life limiting disabilities, and the nurses and staff were constantly comforting these children. They were holding the children, feeding them, smiling at them, singing to them, playing with them-- whatever it took to show their love, even in the face of heartbreak. They believe that every child’s life is valuable, and should be valued, no matter how short. All children are afforded dignity and love in life and death.
Michael remembers his time at The Butterfly Children’s Hospices. He has fond memories of his time there, even though he was going through some difficult days. Our little miracle boys are healthy and happy today because of the amazing and selfless work of the nurses, staff, and volunteers at The Butterfly Children’s Hospices. They will forever be our extended family. They have done so much for us and we want to be able to give back. We are asking our family and friends to donate so that they can continue to help children in need. Every donation helps- $5, $10, $20 or more! If you’re able to do so, please donate! Thank you and God Bless!

#GivingTuesday is the day to do good stuff for charity. It follows the gluttony of Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Want to give back? You've come to the right place.
On November 29th we are pitching our supporters against each other in a friendly battle to see just how much they can raise for our Butterfly children.
Here’s the catch; we have just two teams and 24 hours to do it.
STeam North America needs to raise $6,000 in 24 hours to cover the cost of keeping our crib open in our Changsha home. This covers all medical, nursing, play-therapy, food, clothing and diaper costs for the child in our crib.
Why are we fundraising in this way?
Many communities and medical professionals in China are looking to Butterfly to help them create sustainable children’s palliative care models in various locations across China. This has always been our strategic aim. We couldn't be more delighted that after 10 years, our dream is being realized.
However, laws governing NGO's in China are also changing and it is becoming more and more challenging to raise the funds required to keep our home open. Our monthly sponsorships for 2015-16 have been particularly low and we are desperately short of funds.
We need your help. Without you, our Changsha Home has an incredibly uncertain future. Please, donate what you can this #GivingTuesday. Tell all your friends, family and co-workers.
We need everyone in Team Europe and Team North America to shout loud and proud that we support children’s palliative care for some of the world's most vulnerable children.
