September 23, 2016
A non-profit Organization A4MC-U helping the minority Children (the hopeless poor orphans and Pygmies) in Bwindi- Kanungu Uganda. To avail school fees, food, shelter and clothes. So far we support 93 children. Donations towards the construction of the children skills center highly welcome.( $ 29525 ) Meanwhile the organization gets the funding through Art and Handcraft Skills and Cultural dances.
Challenge: In 1992, the lives of the indigenous hunter-gatherers, Batwa pygmies changed forever. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest became a national park and World Heritage Site to protect the 350 endangered mountain gorillas within its boundaries. The Batwa and hunter-gatherers were evicted from the park. Since they had no other skills or land,, they were given no compensation. The Batwa became conservation refugees in an unfamiliar, unforested world. Many of them died during the early years of exile, and their lives was severely threatened.
Solution: Such hopeless orphans, Pygmies and who are below the poverty line that have little or no access to food shelter and clothes. A4MC-U gets the funding through Art and Handcraft Skills and Cultural dances a strategy to mobilize these children and equip them with Art and Handcraft skills through lower education to study English and Mathematics to enable them gain general knowledge, then practical lessons like art and craft, graphic designs and painting, music dance and Drama.
Long-Term Impact: These skills will enable the children to develop interests since it is not to much theoretical, also these skills will enable them with knowledge to practice and produce items to enable them be self employed after training, and this will enable exchange into monitory value to ensure sustainability of the project.
