BENEFITING: Foundation for Women's Cancer
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
On Sunday, November 6th, 2016 my team Bye Bye Beta will be walking for a second year in the National Race to End Women’s Cancer in Washington, DC. Together we will be supporting the Foundation for Women’s Cancer and honoring the fight of all women faced with a gynecologic cancer. On January 19, 2015, I was diagnosed with a very rare cancer in the uterus called choriocarcinoma. This was the scariest and most overwhelming time of my life! With the tremendous love and support of my family, friends, and team of medical professionals, I was able to find the strength to get through 6 months of chemotherapy treatment. It has been 15 months since I finished active treatment and I can proudly say that I am a cancer survivor! I’m officially in complete remission as of 3 months ago (yay!) and remain hopeful in my journey moving forward. Through the National Race to End Women’s Cancer, the Foundation for Women’s Cancer shines a spotlight on the less talked about, “below the belt” cancers. I want to add my voice and those of my family and friends to support this great cause so that every woman faced with a gynecologic cancer can have hope. Please join team Bye Bye Beta or consider a donation!
