Bye Bye, Boobies... Hello Dapper!

Help me fund my top surgery!!!
As many of you may have read in this blog post (http://checkdapper.blogspot.com), I identify as genderqueer. For me this means that I do not exist within the gender binary - I was assigned female at birth and have a perceived female body but I do not identify as a woman. The experience of acknowledging and understanding my nonbinary gender identity has been liberating - I finally found language and a community and stopped asking WHAT I am and figured out WHO I am. While this identity and understanding of self is empowering, it comes with significant pain and dysphoria. My body does not represent my identity and my large chest puts me in situations where I am often unsafe. Using public restrooms, correcting people when they misgender me, and asking for people to use proper names and pronouns is not always safe and comfortable. I wear a chest compression "binder" that allows me to see my body as it should be - with a flat chest. While I utilize the safest option possible, binding is still extremely damaging to my lungs, stomach, and aerobic capacity. Therefore, it is very important to me to finally go through with "top" surgery.
I am extremely fortunate to have a supportive fiancé and family that will care for me before, during, and after my top surgery on May 19, 2015. I received great news that insurance will most likely cover my surgery... Yay! However, I still need to pay at least 20% of the total cost as well as more potential fees depending on my recovery process. My fiancé and I are fortunate to be in the midst of some exciting life transitions - most notably getting married and moving across the country! While exciting, these endeavors are taking place in the midst of this life-changing surgery and that's why I am asking for your support. I am so incredibly lucky to have insurance coverage and a supportive family to help with my surgery, as well as a community in you all to offer whatever support you are able.
I appreciate in advance any donation you can make, people with whom you can share this page, and well-wishes for a speedy recovery you can send my way. Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have as I really enjoy sharing my experiences. You are fantastic and I am grateful to all of you for your support!
