EVENT: Boston Marathon 2014
EVENT DATE: Apr 21, 2014
This year I am checking off the Boston Marathon from my bucket list. I have waited 15 years for this day, since the first time I watched my parents run the Boston Marathon as I waited eagerly at the Wellesley duck pond for the brief moment to show my support.
I am honored and humbled to be running on behalf of my company, Cradles to Crayons. Not only will I be running for my company, but I am running with my sister, who is running for C2C for the 2nd consecutive year. I am running for our city, for the kids we serve, and for everyone else who wakes up and wants to see the our city improve. I appreciate your support - whether it be donating money or simply spreading the word. Hope to see you on Marathon Monday!
On Monday, April 21st, 2014, members of Team Cradles to Crayons will lace up their sneakers for the 118th Boston Marathon and make every mile count for the children that we serve. The money raised by our marathon runners will directly support our vision, that one day every child will have the everyday essential items they need to thrive - at home, at school, and at play.
About Cradles to Crayons:
Founded in 2002, Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive - at home, at school and at play. We supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need.
More than 305,000 children ages 0-12 are living in low-income or poverty stricken households in Massachusetts; each year, an estimated 100,000 Massachusetts children will experience the desperation of homelessness. These children are often lacking the basic essentials they need and deserve to thrive.
Please support the Cradles to Crayons Boston Marathon Team’s efforts to help provide essential items like clothing for a week, winter coats, shoes, books, developmental toys and more for the children we serve.
