First, thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Boston Marathon.
I am ecstatic to be running the Boston Marathon on behalf of Cradles to Crayons, a very worthwhile organization – and am very fortunate to have this phenomenal opportunity. I am responsible for raising a minimum of $5,000.00 for this great non-profit organization and would love your support.
It has been a lifelong goal for me to complete the Boston Marathon on behalf of a charitable organization. Cradles to Crayons is a fantastic organization that has made a huge difference in the community and in the lives of many worthy children. Both completing the Boston Marathon and reaching my fundraising goal are two very daunting challenges, especially considering that I am currently a second year law student. Nonetheless, I am confident that with your help I can check another item off my “bucket list” while helping children across Greater Boston.
I have always been an avid runner and have recently been motivated to further my involvement in charitable organizations. This race seems to be the best of both worlds.
A little bit more about Cradles to Crayons:
Founded in 2002, Cradles to Crayons (C2C) is an innovative non-profit committed to providing every child in need with the essentials to feel safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. C2C’s unique commitment to the “whole child” nurtures self-esteem and creativity by giving new or like-new clothing, books, school supplies, and other basic items to children throughout Massachusetts.
C2C is powered by thousands of volunteers who collect and donate goods, assemble “KidPacks,” and provide essential funding. Cradles to Crayons builds bridges between communities of plenty and communities of need. The packages prepared at the Cradles to Crayons warehouse, The Giving Factory, bring dignity and a better chance of success to children living in poverty while building a foundation for lasting change.
A little bit about me:
I am originally from Victor, NY a small town in Upstate New York. I attended Bentley University, a leading business university located in Waltham, Massachusetts, and graduated from there in May of 2010 with a major in Corporate Finance and Accounting.
While attending Bentley University I was an active member in many charitable organizations, including but not limited to: Cradles to Crayons, Greater Boston Food Bank, St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, Habitat for Humanity, Operation Christmas Child, Greater Boston Catholic Charities). I am a strong believer in giving back and am excited for the day when I can focus the majority of my time on charities.
After graduating from Bentley, I moved to Ghana (a Sub-Saharan African country) and worked for a non-governmental organization. Ghana Poultry Network, or GAPNET, worked to rehabilitate the poultry industry within Ghana through small microfinancing loans to aid starving farmers in starting businesses.
I am currently a second year law student at Ave Maria School of Law in Naples, Florida. I’ve focused on a few charities since moving here in August of 2010. I’ve worked closely with St. Ann’s Catholic Church and most recently Physicians Regional Medical Center.
