Proceeds from this event helps support artworxLA professional arts education programming that reaches 600 students every year at 25 alternative high school sites across L.A. County.
For over a decade, artworxLA has served thousands of L.A. students by partnering with working artists and creative professionals, cultural centers, and colleges/universities. Leveraging their resources and expertise, we offer a four-step "ladder" of increasingly advanced arts opportunities to underserved youth who otherwise would have no arts in their education.
artworxLA re-engages high-risk teens in their education by sending professional teaching artists with distinctive talents from traditional visual arts to performance, multimedia, dance, music, and design into classrooms at 25 alternative high schools in three districts—Los Angeles Unified, Culver City Unified, and LACOE—to lead the Level 1 curriculum.
artworxLA thanks WME for hosting the 2013-2014 Advocates Film Screening Series. artworxLA also thanks Sony Pictures Entertainment, MGM, Park Circus, Universal Studios, Warner Bros and Paramount Pictures for providing 35mm film prints of these classic films.
