José Altamirano is a professional cupper and coffee taster from Casil Cooperative in the highlands of Cajamarca, Perú. He's worked for the cooperative for over 15 years and would love the opportunity to learn and connect to the industry by attending Let's Talk Coffee 2016.
Founded in 1980, the Casil cooperative was one of the first coffee cooperatives in northwestern Peru. During the co-op's first 10 years, it had a base membership of 1,500 producers and sold more than 100 containers of coffee. Casil has worked diligently to meet the needs of its members and incorporate more coffee growers into the cooperative. Casil produces delicious, organic, Fair Trade coffee that tastes like caramel and tropical fruits.
