BENEFITING: COMMUNITY ADVOCATES FOR FAMILY & YOUTH
ORGANIZER: COMMUNITY ADVOCATES FOR FAMILY & YOUTH
As you know I work in the Homicide division at Community Advocates for Family and Youth (CAFY). I help mourning mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, grandparents, etc. deal with the unexpected murder of their loved ones. In this year alone there have been 49 homicides and in those 49 there have been 16 domestic related homicides. In these domestic related homicides these are women killed by boyfriends, wives kill by husbands, children killed trying to protect mothers, and boyfriends trying to protect their new girlfriend.
I’m writing this to ask for help. My organization is involved with Allstate’s Purple Purse Campaign from September 28 to October 25. We will be raising money to help fund, as they call it “The World’s Largest Prison Break”. This money will go to victims of domestic violence to assist them financially to leave. Domestic violence is physical, mental, and financial abuse. Victims can’t leave because they have no resources. By donating you are becoming a victim’s resource, a chance to leave.
