Caidan's New Eyes & Needs
Organized by: Eddie Blanco
10 yr old Caidan has one of the rarest cases of Retinal Detachment the state of FL has ever seen. Most cases occur in adult males over 50 & is even rare in them as well. He is on bed rest for 90 days.Therfore his caretaker is out of work & goverment assistance just doesn't help enough. Infact, it hardley cracks a dent in what is needed for our Bills that still have to be paid. Car insurance cost money & is needed to drive him to his procedures & appointments such as surgerys and follow ups he will be having. After 1st 90 days of Post op, he needs his 2nd of many surgeries to fix his eyes, but utilities are needed at home to take care of him. As parents we ALL know exactly what that means. If we cant pay our rent then we have a blind child with no where to live for him to be on bed rest & rest between surgerys. Hes only aloud to be up & not laying down 1% of the day. Doctors say 99% of the day he should be laying down. In the end of January he will have his 2nd surgery on his right eye to attempt to restore vison while his left eye is only 25% usable & decreasing daily. Imagine 1 day seeing clearly & the next you wake up from your night of sleep completely blind in 1 eye and gradually becoming completely blind in the other. He needs to be cared for & taken care of all day & night untill all of the needed surgeries occur. Problem is that its impossible to work and care for him at the same time. We need help. We might have to travel out of state or even out of country to make sure 10 yr old Caidan gets the best help he can get & restore his vision to be able to live a normal life & see through his eyes again. Please say a prayer for my son. He needs all the prayers he can get.
