Caila in Uganda
Organized by: Caila Brander
The more time I spend in Uganda, the more I live here the more I realize how important the Uganda Village Project's work is. I've observed the need for improvement in my village, Nabirere B - the poor nutrition, financial barriers to getting medical treatment, the countless funerals of children under 5 who've died of preventable diseases... But I've also seen how much the villagers are willing to invest in improving their own health. I've laughed and danced and planned education sessions with the committed group of local health volunteers. I've watched as almost a hundred people came to be tested by HIV for the first time. I've seen the open and receptive attitudes of the villagers and local leaders to the work we're doing and the public health education we're providing. Every cent you donate goes to supporting the first ever public health intervention in the village of Nabirere B. Your contribution supports our team of 6 as we work alongside the villagers to educate them and empower them to improve their own health.
