CAMBODIAN ASSOCIATION OF ILLINOIS' Fundraiser:

Museum & Killing Fields Memorial

CAMBODIAN ASSOCIATION OF ILLINOIS' Photo

THE STORY:

In 2004, CAI opened the Cambodian American Heritage Museum & Killing Fields Memorial. It promotes genocide education and awareness and healing through the arts for survivors of the Killing Fields genocide, which claimed the lives of over two million Cambodian people.
A genocide curriculum (developed by high school students at Chicago's Northside College Prep High School) allows educators to explore the Cambodian Killing Fields with students from across the globe. Youths from high schools and colleges may contact Kaoru Watanabe (kaoru@cambodian-association.org) to schedule educational tours. For an overview of our past exhibits, visit our website (http://www.cambodian-association.org/node/186).
Our solemn Wall of Remembrance honors the 2 million people who perished in the Killing Fields. It is the only one outside of Cambodia that does this. Families may add names to the Wall of Remembrance by filling out a form at our website (http://www.cambodian-association.org/node/115).
