BENEFITING: FULLER CENTER FOR HOUSING INC
EVENT: 2014 Ride OnePulse Campaign
EVENT DATE: Jun 13, 2014
In less than a month I will embark on a very exciting journey! I will ride alongside a pack of cyclists across California, each one of us raising money to benefit a good cause.
OnePulse is a rising non-profit organization that links together charities, volunteers, and riders to bike across nations to spread awareness and raise funds. On June 12, 2014 the group will embark across our beautiful country to benefit five charities, raising money along the way. OnePulse has linked together with American Community Garden Association (ACGA), Charity: Water, The Fuller Center for Housing, Partners in Health, and World Bicycle Relief. If you want to learn more about OnePulse or any of the charities please visit the links below:

Sadly, my new work schedule will not allow me to make the full trip across the country. I will be riding the first of ten segments (San Fransisco, CA to Reno, NV ~300mi). You may be thinking how I plan to raise money if I will be on my bike somewhere between SF and Reno, and that's where you come in! I have a goal to raise $1 for every mile ridden. So then my goal is to raise $300 to benefit the five charities above. No donation is too small! You can support me for a mile or a day (~50mi) or anywhere in between. Unfortunately, crowdrise requires a minimum donation of $10 so if you still want to help out at a smaller donation you can! Just visit the OnePulse website (link above) and click the red 'Support Us' button. Make sure to select 'rider' in the drop down menu and enter Tony Hernandez in the field 'Bike Rider'.
I know it will be hard but it will be worth it! I want to show people that with little effort, one can make a HUGE statement, and with little impact on the environment too. I have been a strong proponent of cycling for a few years and I am very excited to now be able to cycle for change. Watching my hard work turn into funds that can benefit others lives will be very self-fulfilling.
Feel free to follow me on social media during the ride.
