Our 8-year old daughter was diagnosed on October 21, 2012 with type 1diabetes. Since that day - Cameron has had over 2200 finger pricks or insulin shots! As a type 1diabetic her body does not produce insulin. An autoimmune disease which is not related to diet or weight. Type 1diabetics must take insulin to survive. Children with type 1 are truly amazing. Cameron is now 9 and gives her own insulin shots. She is determined to beat diabetes and is inspiring to everyone around her.
Cameron has been selected to be a walk ambassador for the Atlanta JDRF walks to take place in October. We have supported the JDRF Walk in the past but this year the walk takes on a deeper meaning for our family.
Please help JDRF in its commitment to find better treatments and a cure for type 1 diabetes. We are getting so close but need your support! Thank you!
