Calvin Godwin's Liver and Kidney Transplant Fund
Organized by: Brianca Whaley
Calvin is 59 years old. About 3 years ago he was diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Stetoheptic Liver Disease (N.A.S.H). By the time the doctors found it, it was already in advanced stages. Calvin is a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He graduated from East Carolina University with a masters in Marriage and Family therapy in 2001. He worked at Kennedy Home (Baptist Childrens Home) as a social worker with families and children for 21 years. During that time he became an ordained Southern Baptist Minister. Now instead of being able to retire and enjoy time with his family he faces the biggest struggle of his life. The doctors have recently discovered that the N.A.S.H disease has lead to his kidneys beginning to fail. They are now only working at about 20%. In order for him to get the Liver and Kidney transplants he needs we have to raise money to pay for his doctor bills and traveling expenses to get back and forth to UNC Chapel Hill Memorial Hospital. We are asking for your help because he is on disability and that just isn't enough to get everything paid for. His transplant will be over $650,000. We appreciate any and every donation people are able to give. Even if you just pray for our family in this time of need. We truly thank you and God Bless You!
