August Update - Clay students compete at national music competition!
August 19, 2016
BENEFITING: PROJECT EDUCATION INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 13, 2016
I've never run more than 5 miles in my life but I can't think of a better "cause" to run my first half-marathon for than the students, teachers, staff, and parents of Clay International Secondary School in Ngomano, Kenya. That's why I've signed up for the Cambridge Half-Marathon on November, 13th. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Project Education Kenya, Inc (PEI) who's mission it is to financially support Clay so that it may provide an enriched learning environment for young adults, enabling them to create for themselves a life of meaning and bring effective, sustainable change to their communities.
I was fortunate enough to take two trips to Ngomano in 2010 and again in 2014. Each time I came back more filled with love and inspiration than I thought possible. This community and their dedication to learning is unparalled. In the 10 years since it's founding, students at Clay have consistently placed highest in their county on university entrance exams, as well as a host of other regional competitions ranging from volleyball tournaments to drama club meets. You've never met a group of more motivated and curious young people than Clay's 120 High School students.
With your help I can reach my fundraising goal of $3,000 which will support 2 students for a full academic year--but I can't do it without you!
GIVE UNTIL IT FEELS GOOD.
