Dear Friends & Family, Cameron has joined the Winter Park High School Crew Team! In addition to practicing 3 days a week after school, waking up at 5am on Saturdays to row, and running over 15 miles a week to train, Cameron is leading a fundraiser to do his part to keep the team funded. Rowing is an expensive sport (an 8‐person shell costs $30k). All of the families pay monthly dues to cover operating costs such as: regatta entry fees, boat trailering, uniforms, equipment maintenance, property and insurance, and our awesome coaching staff! However, the team could not be as successful as it has been - winning 34 of 52 state championships! - without funds to get the guys to the races and to invest in new equipment. This is where we need YOUR SUPPORT. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to Cameron's Campaign! His goal is to raise $600 in the next 2 weeks - half of this will be used to support his personal travel to regattas, and the other half will help the team (e.g., through the purchase of new equipment). A donation of $25 would be a wonderful way to show your support for all his hard work! Whether or not you contribute to the campaign, please send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a personal message written for Cameron -- I will compile these and surprise Cameron with them on the eve of his first regatta, The Head of the Hooch, in Chattanooga, Tennessee on November 7!
Thank you so much for your support!
Cameron and family
PS - the pictures are from practice on September 26, Saturday morning... it was gorgeous and foggy that morning, a PERFECT day for rowing... Cameron is in the closer of the two boats, sitting at 7 seat (which is the third person from the left).
