BENEFITING: Donaldina Cameron House
What do I love about Cameron House?
We see the potential in others that they don’t always see in themselves.
For over 140 years, at CH we have provided service with compassionate care.
Some alumni first came to us as kids facing complex problems. With encouragement and guidance from adults who saw their potential, more often than not, they turned out to become some of our most outstanding leaders.
One alumna entered our Bilingual After school Program as a shy, non-English speaker. With support, love, patience, and her own hard work, she blossomed into an articulate engineer, who today is manages multi-million dollar projects at a public utilities company and regularly uses her voice “to tell the guys what to do.”
Our kids vary in experience and living situations. Whether a 7th grader is faced with bullying at school, a 3rd grader has learning disabilities, or a high school senior has depression from witnessing violence at home, we’re here to help them.
Some youth come from single-parent households and take on adult roles because dad or mom is working multiple jobs to survive. Other youth have two parents who provide loving, supportive care.
We also work with parents and grandparents who may be struggling daily to learn English, pay rent, and get enough food on the table. Seeing the potential in others and offering compassionate care is what we do best at Cameron House thanks to your support!
Please give generously so that together we can continue this life-saving work!
