SEND 200 GIRLS TO SCHOOL IN AFRICA
WHY GIRLS’ EDUCATION?
“Never has it been more important for Camfed to receive support from our donors to meet the urgent need to support this generation of girls through school in Africa.” The Hon Julia Gillard, Camfed Patron
In sub-Saharan Africa, 28 million girls can't afford to go to school. Poverty is the greatest barrier to accessing an education – overcoming this barrier by investing in girls and women is the proven way to improve the health and economies of whole nations.
When you educate a girl, everything changes.
• She’ll earn up to 25% more for each year of secondary school
• She’ll be 3 times less likely to contract HIV
• She’ll marry later and have a smaller, healthier family
EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS
It costs less than $1 per day to send a girl to school, but in rural sub-Saharan Africa, the cost is often insurmountable. Your gift to the Campaign for Female Education can provide a uniform, school supplies and exam fees - simple things that keep a girl out of school.
$15 can provide a girl with essential school supplies
$40 can pay for the uniform a girl needs to go back to school
$240 can keep one girl in high school for a whole year
Your gift has never been more important to our work. With an education, this generation of girls will have the power to transform the future of generations to come.
Since 1993, Camfed has directly supported over 1.6 million children to go to school, and improved learning environments for more than 4 million children through community-led education programs in Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Help us give 200 girls the start in life they deserve. Your gift today will educate a girl, uplift a community and change the world.
