BENEFITING: YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit
ORGANIZER: YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit
EVENT: YMCA Camp Nissokone
I've started this page as a way to remember my dad, Paul Martin.
He was a camp counselor at Camp Nissokone in 1966 and had many stories about his summer there and the people he met.
Please donate as much as you are able to, I'm hoping to raise enough to send at least one camper to Nissokone this summer.
From the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit:
When you donate to the YMCA CAMP NISSOKONE, you make our community a better place by giving youth leadership opportunities.
$1000 gives 2 young leaders our Counselor- in-Training (CIT) Leadership Development program, instilling the values & inspiration for tomorrow’s leaders.
$500 gives a camper a full week of Overnight Camp helping build confidence & friendships.
$250 will give 2 campers our equestrian program to learn responsibility and riding skills.
$50 gives a weeklong specialty program at Camp Nissokone.
We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Overnight Camp helps youth and teens unplug and discover the world around them. Campers gain independence, make new friends, challenge their limits, explore the natural world, and create lifelong habits of healthy living. At camp there are trees to climb, memories to be made and campfires under the stars, all under the supervision of caring, enthusiastic staff hailing from all over the world. Not all children have access to enriching summer experiences. The Y raises funds so everyone, regardless of income or background, has the ability to learn, grow and thrive at camp. We count on the generosity of people like you to help give kids this life-changing experience. Your gift will have a meaningful, enduring impact- lifelong friendships, new skills and new self-confidence learned at Camp Nissokone. We’re committed to youth development and know lasting change comes when we all work together to invest in our children. Give today for a better us.
