A glimpse into a healthy young person’s life would most likely reveal after-school clubs and activities, sports teams, birthday parties, play dates and summer camp. However, for children diagnosed with cancer and blood-related diseases, many of their days are spent in treatment, taking medications, enduring scans and lab infusions, traveling to and from appointments, and in hospital rooms. Stealing away a normal childhood is perhaps one of the most devastating parts of pediatric cancer diagnoses. Camp Rainbow seeks to replace those scary days, hours, and minutes with fun-filled, magical camp experiences. In 2017, Camp Rainbow created approximately 33,000 camp minutes for our campers and their families. These are cherished times of laughter, friendship, amazing opportunities, and fun!
Last year 670 children participated in the magic of Camp Rainbow through our 6 camp programs. In 2018, we are excited to serve an even greater number of children effected by pediatric cancers when we launch our SIBS Camp.
