Hope Flies Campaign for the Cures
EVENT DATE: Dec 31, 2016
Your gift will provide the structure for FMM to truly lead the way.
In addition to supporting key mission-critical programs like Joint Venture Drug Discovery Research Projects, Hope Flies® Health Series, partnerships and awareness initiatives, events, and operations, most significant to this campaign is the new FMM Program for Mitochondrial Medicine at the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB).
In partnership with the UAB and Seahorse Bioscience, a biotech company from Boston, this program will include a comprehensive multi-disciplinary clinical center for the diagnosis and treatment of mitochondrial disease for pediatric and adult patients, along with an FMM funded nurse coordinator. Additionally, a reference laboratory will be established to develop a non-invasive research measurement of mitochondrial function.
The clinic will begin seeing patients in 2016. This clinic will be one-of-a-kind in the southeast and will address the enormous void in clinical care facing so many patients.
We encourage you to aim high as you consider your support for the Hope Flies® Campaign for the Cures.
