Camp Aurora Scholarship Fund

Camp was the shit. It was the highlight of my year every year. It's where they had the best ice cream ever, where I woke up to Aunt Marj's sweet voice singing Red Robin, where barn dancing was done in an actual barn, and it happens to be where some of the best pranks were executed.

It's where I made lifelong friendships, where I had older brothers and sisters looking out for me, and younger ones looking up to me; where i could express my love for god and nature through song and prayer and just having a damn good time.

It's where I learned to leave the plus, to love the hardest person, and to dream big; it's where i had a brief but oh so sweet taste of what the kingdom would feel like.

I'd hate for a little guy or girl to miss out on that. Especially if they wanted to go.

I was sitting next to a young girl at church service when the Camp Aurora promotional video came on and I whispered, "Are you going?" She gave me a look like, Are you for real? and she replied, "I can't go every year, it's too much money."

Kinda breaks your heart.

You don't have to be from New England or be an Aurora alum to remember that exhilarating sensation as you drive up to camp or a workshop, and you're prepared to have an awesome time with amazing people in such a loving environment. You might be a parent, a young professional, or a student who's unable to volunteer at camp, but would like to help make a child's summer, or year. Please consider the impact you could have by sponsoring here. Cuz it's not a kingdom unless everyone's there.

Thank you to Marjorie Buessing and Heather Thalheimer for laying down the bricks for this epic camp, and to all those who volunteer to make it happen every year.
