BENEFITING: Mayan Families
EVENT DATE: Mar 05, 2016
While many college students are headed to the beach, ten students from Campbell University are hopping on a plane, rolling up their sleeves, and helping to provide life-sustaining technological innovations for Mayan families in Guatemala.
The team will be installing fuel efficient stoves and water filters in the homes of folks living in extreme poverty. These stoves help protect against diseases from the inhalation of smoke and help families feed themselves and their children at lower energy costs. Guatemala has the fourth highest rate of chronic malnourishment in the world, so every little bit helps. Water filters protect families against water-borne illnesses like hepatitis and typhoid.
Please help. The students are paying their own way for the trip, so every dollar raised goes to help us install more stoves and filters. Each stove costs $186 and each water filter costs $121. Give generously and help be a part of the solution!
