Camp Casey is a non-profit horseback riding program for children with cancer, sickle cell anemia and aplastic anemia in Michigan. Camp Casey serves children and their families with our three unique and cost-free programs; Horsey House Calls, Cowboy Camp Outs and Outlaw Outings.
Horsey House Calls are our most popular program, where we surprise a child with cancer with a horse on their doorstep and a day full of fun activities. Children get to horseback ride, and groom with their friends and family. Horsey House Calls are set up between the parents of the child and the Camp Casey staff. We like to keep our Horsey House Calls a surprise for the children we serve, making our visit a memorable day for all involved. Every weekend June through October we take our pony show on the road!
Cowboy Camp Outs scholarship families to go on an all-expense paid horseback riding vacation, where our Camp Casey families can kick back, relax and enjoy time with their loved ones. Often, these families haven't had a vacation since their child's diagnosis.
Our Outlaw Outings program is for new and returning Camp Casey families to get together and enjoy a night out, without the expense or hassle of planning. We often attend theatre events, professional sports games and trail rides.
Because Camp Casey is a small non-profit, we rely heavily on our community for support. All funds raised for our program go directly back into what we do best, helping kids conquer cancer one neigh at a time!
