This is a fundraising page for a specific, and special, family. The O’Briens. This year Ed and Tracee O’Brien received the news no parent can ever prepare for. Their 3 year old son, Andy, had brain cancer.
Immediately after the diagnosis, an emergency surgery was scheduled and performed. Now the family is dealing with the long-term treatments that are to follow, praying this ends with Andy being cancer free.
For those who know the family and of Andy’s fight, you know of the courage Andy has shown and how remarkably well this 3 year old has dealt with everything he has had to endure. You know of how his parents have not wilted when given this devastating news but have taken this battle head-on. Fiercely determined yet always with absolute love and compassion. You also know of how their extended family and community have embraced and supported them in this, a time of their greatest need.
This fundraising page is for the O’Briens. It is for Andy, his parents, his big sister and his little brother. It is a chance to give them a special gift. My hope is for us to raise $2,000, the cost to send one family to Camp Sunshine, to give the O’Briens an experience they will never forget and most certainly deserve.
P.S. Want to make me work a little harder for your donation? Make a donation of only $10 and type "I challenge you!" in the comment section. The challenge will be for me to beat my times from the last Pirate Triathlon I competed in (Swim: 10:30, Bike: 43:21 & Run: 21:48). For each of those times I beat this year, you will agree to donate an extra $5 for a maximum donation of $25. Challenge me for Andy!
