Camp Starfish is a unique, beautiful, life-changing camp nestled in woods of Rindge, New Hampshire on Lake Monomonac. Every year 200 young boys and girls (the 'Starfish Kids') between the ages of 5 and 17 who struggle with debilitating psychological and learning disabilities benefit from the Camp Starfish unique environment -- the only camp in New England to offer a one-to-one camper-to-counselor relationship. Starfish was designed, created and structured to to provide a safe, fun and skill-building therapeutic camp experience to children who, for whatever reasons, are unable to find success in more traditional environments.
Many (though not all) of the campers have been diagnosed with depression, bipolar, ADHD, autism, aspergers, and other disabilities or have extra needs. Many who attend have been asked to leave other summer or extra-curricular programs because the staff ratio, structure or program expectations did not setup children with extra needs for success.
Please join me in supporting the campers, families, camp counselors, volunteers, Board of Directors and numerous others that make Camp Starfish possible and help continue their 16 year mission of helping children with special needs find the care and compassion needed to help them move forward in life.
