BENEFITING: NATIONAL MARROW DONOR PROGRAM
EVENT DATE: Oct 05, 2013
Every day, thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases hope for a marrow donor who can make their transplant possible. Most patients do not find a marrow match within their own family. They turn to Be The Match®, a non-profit organization operating the largest, most diverse registry of potential marrow donors and cord blood units in the works. Be The Match® connects patients with life-saving marrow donors. For critically ill patients with leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell anemia or other blood diseases, a marrow transplant is the only cure. We all have the power to heal, the power to help. You can demonstrate your commitment to making a difference in the world. It could be the most rewarding thing you’ll ever do.
Every year, an Arizona State University club known as "Bros for Bone Marrow," holds a weightlifting competition to raise money as well as register donors for "Be the Match." Contestants compete for prize money all while helping a great cause. DJ, live music, food, photo booth, and tons of fun. So come check it out at 10 A.M, October 5th, at the Sun Devil Fitness Center.
