BENEFITING: American Association for Cancer Research
EVENT DATE: Dec 25, 2012
I'm a deployed soldier in Afghanistan. My battle buddy had to leave our deployment because he was diagnosed with cancer. He is an inspiration to soldiers, and an amazing father to three wonderful kids with his beautiful wife. I was also just informed while on deployment that my mother's child hood friend, Linda, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and does not have much time left. My Aunt in this recent week found out she also has cancer, and it's affected me over here. I feel like I am a little helpless miles away, and I wanted to help.
I'm known for my hair. I'm one of those people who had said a million times, "You couldn't pay me to cut my hair off!" I want to give it to someone else. I'm going to chop off my locks off on Christmas Day, here in Afghanistan to donate it to someone he needs it more than I do. I thought I could raise money in the process. Every little bit helps!
