BENEFITING: Shade Foundation of America
Within our ski town there are miraculous as well as heart wrenching stories of those who have been diagnosed with cancer. My dad has been battling stage 4 melanoma and this July will be his fourth "Cancerversary. " Rather than dwelling on the war against cancer, we chose to celebrate life and all of the love and support that surrounds us. It would be truly amazing for the Park City community to celebrate not only my dad's life, but all of those who are fighting or have fought cancer within our community.
On August 15th, the Flying Ace All Stars will be performing a show at 11am and directly after this show I would like to invite anyone and everyone to the Cancerversary Fundraiser! There will be food, games and music to ensure that you and your family will have a good time!
There are two organizations that will be receiving the donations; The Shade Foundation and Camp Kesem. The Shade Foundation is an amazing organization that is dedicated to melanoma awareness and prevention. 1 in 5 children will be diagnosed with skin cancer at some point in their life, melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25-29 years old and the second most common form of cancer for adolescents and young adults 15-29 years old. It is my goal to help decrease these statistics and raise awareness about the importance of skin protection. Camp Kesem recognizes the huge effects that take a toll on children while watching their parents battle cancer and provides a support system for them. Join me to help these organizations push to put an end to the "C" word and support those who are fighting or have fought cancer.
