CANTATA ACADEMY CHORALE has been a part of Detroit's cultural fabric since its founding in 1961. Unfortunately, Cantata’s office and music library in Warren suffered devastating losses in the historic flooding on August 11, 2014. We hope you will join us in this campaign to HELP US REBUILD, and SECURE OUR FUTURE.
Cantata Academy, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to high caliber choral performance and outreach to communities throughout the Detroit metropolitan area and the world. The Chorale, composed of forty accomplished singers from many walks of life, is recognized for its exemplary presentation of the finest choral music in a variety of genres. Cantata presents an annual subscription season, collaborates with local orchestras and choral societies, and appears as part of sacred and secular concert series throughout Southeast Michigan. Our concerts educate and increase community appreciation for the choral arts, while providing singers with an opportunity to refine their skills and grow in musicianship and artistry. By fostering an atmosphere in which fine vocalists may excel, we will share our love of music with our audiences and community.
Sadly, Cantata’s office and music library in Warren suffered devastating losses in the historic flooding on August 11, 2014. Over fifty seasons' worth of purchased sheet music and octavos were destroyed by six feet of contaminated water. We also lost photographs, programs, and irreplaceable mementos from our history. And, as we begin our 54th season, we have an immediate need to replace basic supplies. Your support is invaluable as we work through these challenging circumstances. Thank you for supporting us in the RiseDetroit Charity Challenge!
