Can You Help Our father?
Organized by: Reshma Bhattacharjee
Dilip Kumar Bhattacharjee, beloved husband and father has always been the rock of our family. His positive attitude towards life and a fighting spirit has inspired us to grow up as such. Even when he is battling a Stage IV Colorectal Cancer, diagnosed Mar 2014, his smile, passion for life and enthusiasm amaze us. We are his proud son and daughter. The only priority of his and our mom's life have been to make us successful, independent, self-sufficient and for us to have a better life. We could not have asked for any more from our parents. For the last one and half years, he has undergone several treatments including chemotherapy with Erbitux (one of the costliest drug) followed by an extensive 13 hour-long HIPEC surgery. Setting up a long term care away from there home to be near the special team of doctors, my brother left his job to take care of them. In the meantime my Mom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. She could not comprehend "why my Dad is always lying in the bed?" My brother being out of job and no health insurance to pay for the immense costs, we are at our wit's end right now and the funds are drying up to support him and my Mom. We are very hopeful of his remission, and are trying at any cost to save them as well as keep them together as they have been for the last 42 years. It is our way of giving back the honor and respect they deserve. We request you, kind individuals, to support us in saving our parents by donating. “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” ― Winston S. Churchill
