Childrens Alopecia Project wrote -The 1st International CAP Cut-A-Thon
Here it is gang! 3 days in June to help raise funds and more importantly, Awareness of Alopecia and the Children's Alopecia Project!! Mark your calendars for Friday, June 7th - Saturday, June 8th - Sunday, June 9th.
This is the weekend where we all do the same thing for CAP!
(THIS IS NOT A PONYTAIL DONATION EVENT)
The cut-a-thon is simple. You call your salon or a salon you think would help and ask them for help! It could be a two person salon or a mega salon, the amount raised is not the objective, the awareness is! If your event educates just one person about alopecia and CAP, it will be a success!!
Have the salon offer reduced rates for services during a specific time period where all of the proceeds are donated to CAP, get crazy and have an auction to have a man get his chest waxed or a group of men! Set goals and if those goals are met, the men get waxed! Get nearby businesses to donate items for raffles and refreshments too. Get the salon involved because it is a great customer service event for them to offer their outstanding expertise at a lower cost to their customers. This makes their clients happy and even better, they will feel good that the proceeds go to the only non-profit in the world devoted specifically to children with alopecia!!
It could be an adult evening with waxing and wine, a day event with kids participating, or just a cut-a-thon. No matter how you do it you will create a fundraising page and have people donate with a major credit card and collect cash and checks at the event. We will keep track of the online part and when you send us what you collected and raised, we will add it up and the cut-a-thon raising the most in funds will get a great reward.
With over 20 CAP Kid groups around the world I figure a fundraising goal of $20,000 makes sense and a challenging yet attainable goal!
Be original, copy off others, but whatever you do, hop on board and get involved!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
