Hi Friends! I wanted to get involved and help my boy Kevin reach this goal. Anything you can do to help will be GREATLY appreciated! See more
Kevin Felder wrote -I met Mary Singletary just a few days ago. After a brief discussion about her embroidery business, she told me about her brother, Wendell, who is bedridden. At the age of 49, Wendell suffered a debilitating asthma attack, that sent him into cardiac arrest, ultimately leaving him challenged in his speech, contracted in his limbs, and blind.
Wendell does not get to feel the warmth of the sun on his body. He doesn't get to close his eyes and feel the breeze across his cheeks. He doesn't get to inhale the fresh air of a midsummer's night, or a winter morning. That's where we come in.
At present, each week when Wendell is transported to therapy, he must go in an ambulance, because Ms. Mary has neither a large enough nor properly equipped vehicle for her brother to be transported in. Through a grant from a government agency, once Ms. Singletary gets a van, they will pay for it to be equipped with all the necessary electronics, lifts, etc., at no cost. Through this local, regional, and perhaps even global community effort, I would like for us all to purchase Mary Singletary a brand new, 2013 Dodge Caravan to transport her brother Wendell in. Our friends at Dodgeland of Columbia (SC) have agreed to sell us the vehicle at cost, even minus the dealer fees. Any excess monies raised will be given DIRECTLY to Ms. Mary Singletary, as she is paying out-of-pocket expenses DAILY to have a nurse stay with brother during the day.
Will you help me make a difference in someone's life? I can't explain why Mary's story touched me so much. I've never felt this strongly about spearheading a fundraising campaign in all my years of life.
Let's show Mary and Wendell some love. Thank you in advance for considering donating to this effort, and making someone's life just a little bit better here on Earth.
