On July 5th, 2016 I was driving home with my daughter when I witnessed a drunk driver slam into a vehicle carrying two children: Arianna age 7 and her little brother Jonathan, age 5. The two children where not in car seats and were unrestrained. I pulled Arianna out of the car while other witnesses pulled Jonathan from the wreckage out of fear the car would catch on fire. The two children were rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. Arianna sustained multiple cuts and bruises to her entire body, has several cuts and bruises, and is currently in the ICU. The experience as a mother, was very scary for me. So I went out and bought brand new car seats for Arianna and Jonathan and delivered them to the hospital today. This got me thinking about how many children are not in the proper restraints and what I could do to change that. I would like to start purchasing car seats and providing them to families in need. A few months back I was having dinner with my huband at our local Wings and Things and I noticed a woman in the car next to me with 5 younger children. None of them were in car seats. It just so happened that a few days earlier I had bought new car seats to upgrade my to daughters in and had bout 4 car seats to place 2 in each car. Without hestiation I asked the mother if she would take them and I helped her install all four new car seats into her car. I beleive God put me in this spot at the right moment to be here for her, just as God placed me there for Arianna and Jonathan. I would like to purchase car seats and when I see a child in need, give it to the parents. If this works, maybe get in touch with law enforcement and start a program where when a local law enforcement encounters a child not properly restrained I can provide that parent with new car seats. I would like to use this as the starting point for a Non-Profit Organzation to help kids nationwide! Please help donate: you can donate monetary through this website or you can donate brand new car seats to me by contacting me at CareSeats4Kids@yahoo.com.
