BENEFITING: SEER FARMS INC
I told my dog she was going to camp - that is how we think of the Out of Crisi Program at Seer Farms. She would be staying with other dogs and be cared for by people who love animals. We visit her as often as we can and make sure she knows we love her. We miss her soooo much but we just cannot take care of her right now. But we are working hard for the day when we can take her back. Thanks to Seer Farms' Out of Crisis program, that day WILL HAPPEN.
The Seer Farms' “Out of Crisis” program helps families facing natural disaster, a major health issue, financial turmoil, domestic violence, extended military service or other major life crises. Families contact us when they have no other place to turn for the care of their pets and they are offered a temporary home for their pets while they work to resolve their crisis and reunite with their animals. Each day Seer Farms hears from families who tell heart-wrenching tales of loss - loss of health, of home, of security, and so often, of hope. Seer Farms gives them back hope. The American Heart Association, the AMA, The APA, and other sources have documented the physical and mental health benefits of companion animals. One of the principle findings; the love of and caring for companion animals help manage the ravages of stress on the body and psyche. Our model works. We have reunited nearly 1,000 pets with their owners. We have kept more than 500 families intact. Children didn’t lose their best friends; seniors didn’t lose their emotional lifeline. And these animals didn’t lose their lives because their families’ circumstances are temporarily ambiguous. Properly caring for these pets takes money. We ask owners to donate a modest amount on a weekly basis toward the care of their pets. This fundraiser offers an opportunity for everyone - pet owners, friends and family of pet-owners, and Seer Farms' supporters generally - to contribute to the day to day costs of providing a safe sanctuary for these animals until they can be reunited with their owners.
