EVENT DATE: Dec 20, 2014
Central African Republic, C.A.R., has been a scene of brutal violence and tension. After the violent coup d’état in March 2013, the humanitarian situation has deteriorated further. Over 5000 people died, over a ¼ of the current 4.6 Million population had fled with over 400,000 people internally displaced. Most Central Africans live hand to mouth and find it extremely difficult to amass assets or plan for long-term economic activities. Women are especially at high risk for gender-based violence. In the different refugee camps many are women and children where basic services such as clean water, education and health care are minimal or quasi-inexistent.
For the holiday season, C.A.R. Renaissance Foundation would like to show those who are still living in these refugee camps that they are not forgotten. Please help us put a smile on a child’s face this holiday and console those who have lost everything, husband/wife, children, home, belongings and their livelihood.
