On October 1st, 2016 Carli attended her senior homecoming dance just like any other girl her age. Three days later, everything changed after she was admitted to Children's Hospital because of what they thought was just a terrible headache. Then on October 21st, 2016, after extensive tests, Carli and her parents were told that she has an aggressive brain tumor ... and so the battle begins … first the radiation followed by chemotherapy. Carli Dundas is 17 years old and full of dreams of the future. This spring she’s looking forward to graduating from West Allegheny High School. After that she will continue to study to be a veterinarian technician. The future is bright and her opportunities are endless. But first, she has a battle to win … and with her family by her side and God’s help, it’s a battle she intends to fight. It will not be an easy battle though. The cancer is aggressive and she will need every bit of her strength to push through. She is blessed with wonderful parents, Colleen and Rick, that love her and will be by her side every minute of every day. And they too will need strength and courage as they walk through this with their beautiful baby girl. It is our hope to support Carli, Colleen and Rick by eliminating some of the financial stress they will surely incur as they spend many days at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The costs will be numerous, many of which are still very unknown. Hopefully, by supporting them financially, at least a little bit of the stress will be eliminated and they can focus only on Carli and her care.
