As many of you already know, I recently committed to running the 2012 Boston Marathon for an amazing local charity, Cops for Kids with Cancer.
CFKWC is a federally recognized 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit organization. All of the money raised goes directly to children battling cancer at the Pediatric Oncology Units of the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. The money is given in $5,000 grants to children and their families, to help them with treatment costs, or even food, utility bills, or mortgage and rent payments. Unlike many other charitable organizations, one hundred percent of money received by the charity goes straight to children with cancer and their families because no one in the organization receives a salary. Each person working at CFKWC is a volunteer.
With so many great organizations raising millions of dollars to find a cure for cancer, sometimes it's easy to forget the people who are battling cancer right now. Please help me support this cause; no amount is too small! And please help spread the word! Tell your friends, family, and co-workers about this great charity!
Additionally, my company's charitable giving program, the Macquarie Group Foundation will match every dollar I raise!
