Hey Team Awesome!!

Couple of announcements.... (que music!)
1) Mountain Hardwear has sponsored our team!! The shirts are at the printer getting the cool awesome LETS SF Marathon logo emblazoned on them. You can pick your shirt up Saturday at the Expo. We'll have a one hour window and we'd like everyone to arrive during that time so we can take a group pic. Mountain Hardwear would like to use that pic for their site and marketing material. Sweeeeeet!!
2) We've had some requests to get together for a gut-busting carbo loading dinner the Friday evening before the race. Please RSVP ASAP so we can determine how many will be attending. My email: phil@lets.org I'll get you the venue by the middle of next week. It'll be in SF not far from the Embarcadero.
3) We're also planning on a after party lunch around 1:30pm on Sunday after the "fun". RSVP as well if you're interested in attending.
3) My last email sparked a heated debate on weather the Lucky Charms marshmallows were truly the secret to endurance running recovery. The debate is over: my team one. Just cuz.

Be AWESOME!

Hey LETS Run Team!!!
If you're like me these days, you're sitting at your desk with ice strapped to your knees, and a double espresso in hand to ensure your head doesn't suddenly slam down on your desk due to nonstop fatigue from all this ridiculous marathon training regimen stuff. During these fun times, I've discovered that high doses of Lucky Charms marshmallow bits (forget the cereal it's tasteless and has zero nutritional value) are the best post-training body replenishing food source. Better than trendy Pinole without the cinnamon tongue side effects. All seriousness aside, I'm truly stoked to meet each of you at the Expo, Saturday July 28th, the day before the race. We will meet you sometime between 12pm-3pm. At this moment we don't have the exact time, so I'll get that to you later this week. In the meantime keep fundraising and if you have a little extra time to train, then fine do that as well.
Be awesome,

Thank you everyone for starting to fundraise early and making Team LETS the second largest SF Marathon Charity ALREADY!!! I am so so happy to have all of you!!

You are all AMAZING!!! Let me know if I could help your fundraising efforts in any way! Just so you know for every $1000 you raise - we are able to sponsor one more school and erase stigma on their campus saving kids from suicide, depression, bullying, cutting, substance abuse, eating disorders, and all the other issues kids face every day!

CROWDRISING SINCE: Mar 14, 2012
Stuff About Me:

My name is Carmel Ulbrick and I am a native Bay Arean.  I am also the Founder & Executive Director of The Image Exchange Project, a global nonprofit providing photography workshops for at-risk youth and connecting kids with a passion for photography all over the world.  I was inspired to take up running a few years ago by my husband, Malcolm.  Through this practice I have learned so much about my mind, body and the type of lifestyle that's right for me.

I became a part of Crowdrise because it has always been important for me to give back.  I volunteered often as a teenager and remember feeling so touched when I was able to see the impact my actions had on those in need.

In 2013, I reached a major milestone: I ran my 1st FULL MARATHON (SF Marathon) and completed 7 Half Marathons!  This year, I aim to continue my running practice while incorporating a more philanthropic approach.  I am doing this because I already get the 'feel-great-vibes' from running and adding the 'feel-good-while-doing-good-vibes' makes my running high that much sweeter.

I am honored to be running the 2014 NYC Half Marathon on behalf of Friends of the Children NY and look forward to having each step I take contribute to changing the lives of children all over NYC.

Thank you so much for visiting my page and taking the time to donate what you can.  Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or stop by the race in March to show your support!  With Gratitude,

Carmel
