Caroline's Hope to Find a Cure for Spinal Cord Injury & provides assistance to families and individuals who have suffered financial hardship as a result of spinal cord injury.
When Caroline was just 10 months old she suffered a C1 spinal cord injury in a car accident on a snowy day in February, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down and needing a ventilator to breath. Although, Caroline's body suffered severe injuries her spirit is as strong as ever. Even after spending the last 14 years in and out of the hospital for numerous surgeries and illnesses along with requiring up to 10 different respiratory treatments daily, Caroline has a smile that will brighten anyone’s day. Caroline is now in 10th grade and still requires 24 hour nursing at home to help care for her and make it possible to go to school. Because she was so young and the severity of her injuries Caroline is unable to speak but uses a communication device that tracks her eyes and allows her to participate in class and even chat with friends as lunch.
As you can imagine, this level of care is costly and health insurance barely covers the basics. Finding the resources that allow her to just get out of the house and participate in daily activities that we all take for granted is quite a challenge. We need your help, please consider joining Team Caroline and spreading the word to your friends and family.
By signing up and pledging $150.00 you will get your own personal Team Caroline page to send out and let everyone know what you’re doing. All it takes is 10 of your friends and family to donate $15 to your page and your registration fee for the Trenton Half Marathon, 10K and 5K is covered at no cost to you. The amount you can raise above and beyond your pledge is limitless.
Along with that you’ll receive a beautiful event finisher medal and shirt as well as your own Team Caroline Shirt & Medal. Everything above the entry fee goes directly to Caroline’s Hope. We want to see more Team Caroline members than ever this October 29th crossing the finish line at Home Plate in Arm & Hammer Stadium. Please view the "Caroline's Story" video and visit www.TeamCaroline.com to learn about more ways to support Caroline's Hope.
