Carol Hart Stotts Bowser was a life long resident of Athens County, having lived on The Plains for the last 51 years of her life, which is where she raised her family. In addition, she was a member of the historical society's First Families of Athens County. She suffered a respiratory arrest on June 9, 2011, and was resuscitated by an emergency room nurse at O'Bleness. She recovered, regained consciousness and was spent an additional three precious weeks with her family. However, she passed away from complications of this attack and her long battle with COPD on June 30, 2011. Her family will be honoring her memory again this year by participating in the 5K run or 3K walk, as part of O'Bleness Health System Race For A Reason (OURaceForAReason.com) and raising money for the The Plains Elementary School organizations. Carol's children attended this school along with most of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Your donations and/or participation is deeply appreciated by her family!
