Hi friends -

Wanted to share this article about where your donations are being put to work from your support of our Marathon fundraising efforts.

https://giving.massgeneral.org/golf-group-fights-cancer-in-chelsea/

I am very grateful for your support each year - please know that the money you give always makes a direct impact. This year's gift may perhaps be one of grants that I am most proud of - so thank you!

I hope you are winning the day.

Hello friends -

Just wanted to send a quick note of thanks prior to tomorrow's big day. It's both energizing and humbling to see how much support I get each year for this crazy ritual.

I am very grateful for your involvement with my race experience and that you've become part of Golf Fights Cancer's ongoing and growing success. We've raised an amazing $215,000 and counting to date - our small little group continues to make quite an impact!

My bib# is 30,970 - I am starting solidly at the back of the pack!

If you want to track my progress, or lack thereof, simply text RUNNER to 234567 using your mobile phone. You will then receive a text response with instructions on how to submit my bib number.

There is also an app you can find here:

Many thanks for all your support. Looking forward to winning the day tomorrow.

“The world is good. People are good. It takes a day like the Boston Marathon to reaffirm these truths.” – Michael Connelly

My Boston marathon journey started on 8/21/2012, just one day before my 50th birthday. It was a 1.02 mile run which lasted just 10 minutes. I did not know that I was embarking on both a physical and spiritual endeavor. On 4/21/2014, (608 days, 1,293 training miles and 5 pairs of running shoes later), I finished my first marathon in 5 hours and 39 minutes, 30,087th overall and 1,338th in my division. The warmer than expected temp made it a difficult day for most runners including Bob who had severe leg cramps from dehydration – plus it didn’t help that just 5 days earlier he had used all his glycogen stores after his bout with the dreaded norovirus. Although he urged me to run on, we stayed and finished together as we had during all of our training runs. I consider this to be my best race ever because I got to 1) finish AND with Bob AND with friends who also got to complete their first Boston marathon 2) be part of not only the world’s oldest marathon but probably one of the greatest sporting events ever with over 1 million Boston strong fans lining the entire 26.2 mile route who cheered on 36,000+ runners and 3) most importantly, raise over $15,000 to help the youngest of cancer patients at MGH. Standing on the starting line at Hopkinton is a privilege which was only made possible because of each of your generous gifts to MGH. I am forever indebted to you because you enabled a dream of mine to come true. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Many people have asked will I run Boston again. My answer is no. How could I top a perfect marathon? With much love and gratitude, Bonnie & Bob
P.S. We want to share some of the joy we experienced and have posted some pictures to this album on snap fish. http://www1.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=7285596017/a=4226307_4226307/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

Dear CC
You are my CSR hero and idol. You inspire me and it's led to this incredible milestone in my life. Love you!

Thank you for your most generous support of me, Bob and MGH. Know that your gift will make a difference in bridging the gap between the hope and reality of finding a cure for cancer. In addition, some of the funds we raise help support important, healing services such as music therapy that otherwise would unavailable. Through music therapy (100% funded through donations), children with cancer can develop skills to help them through their cancer, provides them an outlet for their emotions, can help reduce stress, and decrease side effects like nausea and manage pain. Thank you for making a difference in these young patients’ lives. Just watch this video to see the joy! http://www.massgeneral.org/cancer/news/multimedia.aspx?id=246
We hope to raise a glass with you on Monday!

With deep gratitude and much love,
Bonnie & Bob
