Inspired by US Navy SEALs (Frogmen), the mission of the Joggin’ for Frogmen 5k race series is to activate communities from across the world to honor the sacrifices of our service members and veterans and to support the families of our fallen heroes. The races bring communities together to celebrate the lives of America’s fallen and to express their deep gratitude to those still serving. All proceeds benefit The 31Heroes Project, Navy SEAL Foundation, and Travis Manion Foundation.
This race was organized in honor of SO1 William Blake Marston, of Concord, NH, who passed away during a training exercise on 1/10/15. In six years of service, Blake was an accomplished SEAL, selected to an elite SEAL level and decorated with numerous awards, but he was also simply “the kind of guy you’d want your children to be around.” Humble, kind, conscientious, and driven.
I am running in the race and supporting this fundraising effort for SO1 William Blake Marston and because my father was an officer in the frogmen training program in 1957. In addition, our family has a close family connection to a current US Navy SEAL team member. I am running for him and others who so willingly dedicate their lives and efforts to serve us in the military. I would be honored and grateful to accept your donations -- and matching gifts from your employer, if your company matches donations.
