Druid Hills Golf Club via Crowdrise
March 26, 2014
BENEFITING: Emory University
EVENT DATE: Mar 29, 2014
For the past few years at Druid Hills GC, our members have held a spirited competition in a Ryder Cup-like format to honor the memory of a cherised former member, Robert Carpenter MD, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2007. Each year, our entry fees and additional raised funds have been dedicated to support cancer research at Emory.
To enlarge the impact of this event we are widening our donor base, inviting our friends, family and co-workers to join in the cause. Because all of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another. Therefore, all of us, even if we don't know Dr. Carpenter, even if we cannot participate in this golf event, have a reason to join the fight against this disease.
Please click on the big orange button on the right and donate what you can. Since we're playing 18 holes of golf, maybe you'd like to give $1 per hole, or $2 or $3 or $10 per hole or more.
All proceeds benefit the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, and will support the Carpenter Fellowship for cancer research.
The battle against cancer cannot be waged without dedicated researchers. The Winship Cancer Institute is a world leader in cancer research. We are very proud that the funds we raise will support a generation of researchers who are destined to discover cures for cancer.
