Dear Carrie, Thank you so m…
Dear Carrie,

Thank you so much for supporting the Kolajo Paul Afolabi College Success Program with your donation to the 5K for Kolajo! We are honored that you chose to support College Visions (CV) as you remember Kolajo.

Kolajo was a volunteer, donor, and board member here at CV. We continue to share his commitment to increasing educational opportunities for disadvantaged students. This year, CV is celebrating our 10th anniversary supporting low-income and first-generation students as they apply to college and then enroll, persist, and graduate. There are now a full 140 CV college graduates. These victories are possible because of you!

Our students can tell you how difficult the path to a college degree can be for low-income, first-generation students. CV grad Alida shares, “Being the first one to go to college in my family meant having no idea of what we were getting ourselves into, but joining CV took a lot of that stress away. Since then, CV has always been there for us along the way with whatever help we needed. Now not only do I have a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Spanish, but I’m working on my master’s degree in Spanish at University of Rhode Island. And even though I’m a CV alum, I know that I will always have my CV family there for me whenever I need them.” Alida has proved what Kolajo so firmly believed-that with support, disadvantaged youth break barriers and become educated and prosperous members of our community.

Your generous gift of $50 on 9/17/2014 helps students overcome barriers. With your support, CV students like Alida complete college at over 5 times the national rate for low-income, first-generation students.

Thank you for changing the lives of our students and their families while you honor the memory of Kolajo.

College Visions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and no gifts or services were provided in exchange for this contribution. Your charitable gift of $50 is fully deductible in accordance with IRS guidelines.

Many thanks,

(If you have any questions about your donation, or about College Visions, I am happy to help and you can reach me at
