The Carter Burden Network was founded in 1971 by NYC Council Member Carter Burden to assist the city’s large number of older residents who were poor, in declining health, and feeling isolated. Since then, we have grown from a single center to a network of 13 programs in 8 locations in NYC that serves more than 5,000 older New Yorkers every year. Every donation to the Carter Burden Network will support one of the many programs and services we offer to address the unique needs of aging New Yorkers, inspire creativity, and empower them with a sense of purpose, independence, and value.
A donation of $25 can provide 5 warm, nutritious lunches at our senior centers, where delicious meals with new neighbors create lasting friendships.
A donation of $100 can fund one of the many art classes, health and wellness workshops, and educational lectures that encourage seniors to learn new skills, get involved, and feel inspired.
A donation of $250 can pay for 50 meals delivered by friendly faces to homebound seniors, which allows them to remain independent and in control of their own lives.
A donation of $500 can provide 5 social service activities that offer support and assistance to seniors and their families, help fight isolation, and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement.
Donate $5 or more to the Carter Burden Network through this fundraising page and receive an email with a Macy’s Savings Pass valid for great savings in-store or online! Join us as we fight the challenges faced by elderly New Yorkers.
