Help Carter get a new bike
Organized by: Amy McGregor
In the middle of the night of March 29th, Carter's bike was stolen from our yard. It was his first time biking solo to a sleepover and the bike was left in a fenced yard up against the house. In the morning, it was no longer there.
We have filed a report with the serial number and description of the bike. We have done our best to retreive the bike with no luck, so we're asking for your help.
It was a really nice bike with 24" wheels, sized just right for Carter. The bike had disc brakes, and good components and was a large expense for the family when it was purchased for his birthday a little over a year ago. They will not be able to replace the bike without the support of family, friends and community members.
Carter's family bikes everywhere. When his school was in their neighborhood, he rode it there almost every day. They would visit the bike park and go mountain biking as a family. Until recently, Carter's family was completely car free so biking was an integral part of their transportation. Biking is still a huge part of his life and he used the bike to mountain bike with his dad and even on long trips out of city limits, aside from general transportation.
We could really use your help to give this sweet wonderful kid another bike to replace the one that was stolen. Bike thievery is a reality that we live with in Bellingham but that doesn't mean that we can't come together for a kid who had a bike that he loved taken from him. Let's make this happen!!!
If the bike is recovered or if we receive in excess of the cost of a new bike for Carter, we will donate the money to RRAD (Ride, Run And Dig), a non-profit program of the WMBC (wmbcmtb.org facebook.com/riderunanddig) that facilitates outdoor recreation for youth through guided stewardship and enriched trail experiences.
Thanks for your support!
