Often, domestic violence survivors are hesitant to leave their abusers because they don't want pets to be left behind. However, remaining in the abusive relationship puts everyone at risk, including the beloved family pets.
CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse) is building a new 100-bed shelter for victims of domestic violence. We have an opportunity to build an on-site kennel to save family pets, but we need your help!
While 71% of pet owners entering domestic violence shelters reported that their batterer threatened, injured, or killed family pets, 52% of victims in shelters had to leave their pets with their abusers. (NCADV)
Help us break that cycle!
