BENEFITING: CASA OF ROCHESTER-MONROE COUNTY INC
EVENT DATE: Oct 05, 2013
For the past two years, I have been a Volunteer Advocate with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Rochester/Monroe County, Inc. I am motivated by the children I advocate for and by the commitment I have made to the mission of organization – which is to be a voice for the best interest of the child(ren). All the children we serve have been either abused or neglected.
As a Volunteer Advocate I meet and talk to the different people involved in the case to which I am assigned – this includes biological parents, relative resources, foster parents, school counselors and teachers, social workers, etc. It is my responsibility to gather factual information pertaining to the health, safety and overall well being of the child and bring that information back to the Family Court Judge. With more information in hand, the judge can make a more informed decision as to what should happen next in the lives of the children involved.
I will be participating in the CASA’s Super Hero Run in conjunction with the George Eastman House Photo Finish 5K on Saturday October 5, 2013. The work I do with CASA is very important to me and I would love your support - no matter how much it is.
